Mavs Gaming emerged as the victors of the annual NBA 2K League Draft Lottery, thereby securing the premier position for the forthcoming 2024 NBA 2K League Draft. Lakers Gaming and Raptors Uprising GC, in succession, shall hold the second and third selections.
This marks the third instance in the annals of the league where Mavs Gaming has clinched the initial choice in the draft process. Their previous achievements in this regard transpired during the league's inaugural season in 2018 and subsequently in 2022, highlighting their recurring prominence.
In the most recent season, guided by the leadership of Ryan Conger aka DayFri, a former NBA 2K League participant and a two-time champion, Mavs Gaming showcased an aggregate performance record of 12-38. This included an 8-23 performance in 3v3 engagements and a 4-15 performance in 5v5 contests.
The selection procedure was executed through a computerized stochastic number generator, yielding a spectrum of 1,001 plausible four-digit combinations, each uniquely designated to every team. Employing an order inversely linked to their respective season achievements, Kings Guard Gaming, Mavs Gaming, and Lakers Gaming were bestowed with the highest likelihood of securing the coveted No. 1 overall draft pick. This preference was symbolized by an allocation of 151 distinct numerical combinations to each of these teams.
Mavs Gaming, within the context of the 2024 NBA 2K League Draft, shall undertake the task of selection from a diverse assemblage of players. This talent pool shall encompass participants who acquire draft eligibility status through their involvement in the "NBA 2K League Become a Pro Series," the "NBA 2K League Draft Prospect Series," those players not retained from the preceding 2023 season, and designated contenders partaking in the NBA 2K League's APAC and European Invitationals.
