In this exclusive Q&A article, we delve into the electrifying world of Zero Gaming, the NBA 2K Pro-Am amateur team that has been making waves in the gaming community. We'll get up close and personal with TheRealTay, the mastermind behind the controller, as he takes us through the highs, lows, and thrilling moments that define his journey in the virtual basketball realm. Q: Should you make the 2024 NBA 2K League Draft pool, what are some things that set you apart from other NBA 2K League prospects at your position that you feel could give you a better chance to represent a team in the league come draft day?
A:” I feel like I thrive in clutch situations no matter how I’m performing throughout the game. In the big moments, I want the ball, and I feel like I've shown up time and time again.”
Q: After not making the NBA 2K League during the 2023 season, what are some things that you took away from that experience that you will be able to apply to this year’s pre-draft to ensure you hear your name called on draft day this time around?
A:” I was fortunate enough to make the league bench, so I was able to mature and become a better leader for my team. It also put another chip on my shoulder, and I have something to prove this pre-draft.”
Q: For the upcoming pre-draft, you’re running it back with Zero Gaming after a very successful pre-draft last year. How excited are you to take the court with those guys again and what are your expectations as a team?
A: “I am very excited and have the same goals as last year, which are to run pre-draft and win as much money as possible. I also want to take home the UPA title.”
Q: What’s something about yourself that not many people would know?
A: “2K wise I hate losing more than I love winning. Personality-wise, I am probably one of the funniest people you will meet once you get to know me.”
Q: As we’re in the early days of NBA 2K24, what are some things that you like about the game and what changes would you like to see made?
A: “Before the patch, the game was perfect; now we get shooting slumps, you can’t walk back, and there is no pure green window. Sometimes you can shoot a full bar even if you time the shot perfectly. I could complain all day, but I’m just going to play the game that’s in front of me and have fun doing it.”
Q: What are some of your biggest strengths and weaknesses as a player and how do you plan on improving those weaknesses?
A: “One of my weaknesses is becoming a vocal leader for my team. One of my strengths is that I know how to get the best out of my teammates. I’m working on my delivery, and that comes with trial and error just like anything in life.”
Q: Which team are you most excited to play this pre-draft and why?
A: “I’m looking forward to playing whoever is considered the best because that’s what me and my teammates are striving to be.”
Q: What are some hobbies that you have outside of NBA 2K?
A: “ I enjoy traveling, playing sports, and chilling with loved ones. I also enjoy making content, reading and watching YouTube, and anime.”
Q: What’s your favorite NBA 2K game of all time?
A: “NBA2K16 or NBA2K17
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received from somebody in the 2K community?
A: “The best piece of advice I’ve received from someone in the 2K community was how to break down film. That took my game to the next level. I can break down one play in so many ways.”
Q: Do you have any final thoughts as we wrap up this Q&A?
A: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to answer this Q&A. I just want to say, stay tuned for this pre-draft, it’s about to be a movie.”
